      <title>Gavit named College Station’s electric utility director</title>
      <description>
			    Glenn Gavit has been named the director of the City of College Station’s electric utility, City Manager Bryan Woods said Friday. Gavit has served as interim director since Timothy Crabb retired in May.  Gavit joined College Station Utilities as the electric substation and metering superintendent in 2019 and was elevated to assistant director in 2020. He was promoted to deputy director in 2024.

			    The City Council of the City of College Station will hold a public hearing on the adoption of the proposed fiscal year 2025-2026 annual budget at a regular council meeting on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 6 p.m., in the City Council Chambers at 1101 Texas Avenue, College Station, Texas 77840 or via the Internet at microsoft.com/microsoft-teams/join-a-meeting Meeting ID: 223 427 023 174 and Passcode MvPmTr or via Phone 469-480-7460 and Phone Conference 952 310 468#  Copies of the proposed budget are available for review with the City Secretary of the City of College Station, at the Bob &amp; Wanda Meyer Senior and Community Center, the Larry J. Ringer Library and on the City’s website at cstx.gov. The public is invited to review and make comments on the proposed budget. Comments may be presented in writing or in person at the public hearing or may be made in writing to be mailed or delivered to the City Manager, College Station City Hall, 1101 Texas Avenue, College Station, Texas, 77840, prior to the end of business on Wednesday, July 23.  THIS BUDGET WILL RAISE MORE TOTAL PROPERTY TAXES THAN LAST YEAR'S BUDGET BY $5,680,000 OR 7.7%, AND OF THAT AMOUNT, $2,000,000 IS TAX REVENUE TO BE RAISED FROM NEW PROPERTY ADDED TO THE TAX ROLL THIS YEAR.  -30-
